One Year!!!

I have now been blogging for over a year! Yeah for me! It's been a lot of fun and a little more time consuming then I first thought it would be. Hopefully I can keep you all entertained for another year without repeating myself to often.

Well we have been very busy with all the Christmas hoopla going on. Every year we have dance recitals. This year we had two. The first one was for Becky's School of Dance where b takes dance and T teaches.

At the dance recital, they had Santa Clause! Seemed like we stood in line forever, in the middle of a Kearns High hallway with people moving back and forth all around us, maybe not forever but I'm sure it wasn't less then 15 minutes. Trying to keep track of two kids while holding an infant and ten bags with cameras, dance stuff and coats, was a quick shot of my future, for at least the next 15 to 20 years. We finally got to Santa, Cash was too busy swinging on some bars and couldn't be bothered. After YELLING at him, we finally had to drag him over to Santa until he realized that he was going to sit on Santa's lap and he was all in. Ran right over there! Could kick that kid sometimes. Cash, was shy or didn't know he was suppose to talk to Santa, when Santa asked him what he wanted, he didn't say anything. B was ready! Santa asked b what she wanted "a big big barbie house" flew out of her mouth.

Our second Christmas dance recital was for T's studio. This one was much better and is how all dance recitals should be. It started a little after ten and was done before 10:30! How sweet is that!! T was a little nervous, being her first recital as the big chief. She did great and it went as smooth as dance recitals can. Most of her dancers are new and this was their first time dancing in front of people. Some of them forgot or maybe were nervous because they didn't dance as well as they could have. There were three numbers, it was quick and painless. I don't have any pics because I was recording the whole thing. I know I need to be able to multi-task much better. I'm working on it. Here is a pic of my two beautiful lady's after the show.

Drop me off at the park

We saw this commercial the other day and loved it. Thought I would share.

The other day we were driving to church, we live close enough to walk but we don't get ready in time to walk. AS we were driving, b was talking about how she didn't want to drop cash off at nursery. Where this came from I don't know, she brings up the craziest things, she thinks a lot, at least a lot more then I do, which isn't saying much. So she's complaining about dropping cash off, I'm not sure why, because it's on the way to her primary class and it's not like it's hard or anything. All she has to do is walk him up the stairs to the nursery, she doesn't carry him or push him in a stroller, she walks with him.

As she's going on about how she doesn't want to drop him off, we pass our neighborhood park and nonchalantly cash just says, "mom and dad are going to drop me off at the park". b did not like this, she flipped out "NO THEY'RE NOT!!!!!" We laughed, which made b laugh, but cash still wanted to go to the park. When we got to church, all was good.

It's only like a two minute drive..............

Christmas Time Is Here

Christmas Cookies and Holiday Tarts

That's the way the holiday's start.

Besides all the gift receiving, gift giving and more gift receiving, the Christmas season is filled with delicious food and yummy treats.

It gets pretty bad at work, during the month of December each section brings in treats one day. It use to be just that, treats, you know like chips and dip, some cake and chocolate. Then one year one section decided to out-do the other sections by making some grandiose breakfast. Well, the other sections couldn't be out-done so the rest of the sections crafted large scale meals. This is how it has been since. It feels as though we have around twenty sections, everyday we have breakfast or lunch, not complaining, it just starts to show around the waste.

At home, T makes fudge on a weekly basis through Christmas, we always have candy around the house, even more so during any holiday. Cookies and treats from neighbors and friends, it's a never ending stream of goodness. Add on top of all the treats, the food of Christmas. Ham and salads that last until New Years and then New Years goodies, O my!

Well, I think the the whole point of all of this was not to make you all hungry but to suggest where you could pick up all of these items. Grandpa B works at Harmons and they are having a contest between all of the stores. The store that sells the most between now and Christmas every employee at that store gets a gift certificate to Harmons. While your out and about shopping for your Christmas needs, see if you can't make it to the Harmons at 54th S. Redwood Rd. and help an old man out.

Also if you turn in a slip saying that it was Bartholomew that referred you to the store. The employee with the most referrals get's something, I can't remember what exactly but it was something.

Good luck with all your Christmas preparations and don't forget the True Meaning of Christmas!

Step Mother

Marcee takes B with her to dance once a week and on the way she heard this conversation. My niece K-Bug was talking about her new aunt Johanna.
B says "Who is Johanna?"
K-Bug says "She is Natalia's step mom."
B got all worried and asked "Is she mean?"
K-Bug was completely disgusted "No! Why would she be mean?"
B replied "Because step mom's are mean.

I thought that was pretty funny. You can tell she has been reading and watching too many fairytales!!!

Christmas Tree!!

Our first two Christmas trees just wouldn't stand still!!

B and Cash were so excited to decorate the tree and I think they did a great job!! You can tell where B had a stool. Cash loved to put the red balls all on the same branch, which would make B mad. I love that my tree has bare spots and also clumps of decorations. It's beautiful!!

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with Brad's family. We now have to use two tables in the kitchen to fit us all. We were also informed that we can't have any more children. they just won't fit!!

We all slept over and the next morning us girls got up super early and went shopping!!! We found lots of good deals. And while we were gone the dads were in charge of the children. So of course they got into everything and caused lots of trouble. Oh, and they played dress up!!

BYU vs UTAH

Brad had a small get together for "The Game". It was lots of fun and we were glad that everyone could come!!

The kids were exiled, but they didn't mind!!

GO UTES!!!

St. George

Brad had a conference in St. George a couple of weeks ago, so the kids and I went along with him. The kids get so excited to stay in a hotel. It's almost like Christmas. They slept a lot of the way down so when we arrived at the hotel they were wired even though it was 11:00 pm.

The next day while Brad was in meetings the kids and I had lots of fun. First we went to the Fiesta Fun Park. We played miniature golf, arcade games, and drove go carts.

B's victory dance.

Cash's attention span soon ended.

Go carts were fun but it was hard for Cash to push the button.

I guess he decided that it would be easier to just run!!

We then tried to find a hike my brother had told me about. But we found the wrong place, which actually turned out fine becuase the kids were tired and all wanted to ride in the stroller anyway!!

Lastly we played in the sand pit. The kids had a blast!!

B doesn't like to get stuff in her shoes and she had to clean her feet off a few times.

Cash didn't care how dirty he got!!

We even made a little chair in the sand for Jet to sit up. He loved it until his big brother kicked sand in his face.

I caught Jet in mid fall.

We had lots of fun, while Brad got to sit in his conference!!

Time of Year

Being in school makes this time of year CRAZY!! Add finals month on top of Turkey day, and the Holidays with all of it's craziness, I'm surprised that I haven't had a heart attack. The blog is getting a little ignored which is sad because I have so much I want to share with you all.

We had a timely discussion during Sunday School this past Sunday about being charitable, humble and giving to others. It wasn't the main subject of the lesson but was part of it. We were talking about how we need to have less pride and worry less about material goods and give to others.
Mormon 8:
37 For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.

Some interesting comments were made about not giving to people who are begging for money for a various number of reasons, some comments came up about people taking advantage of free handouts instead of working hard to provide for themselves. This is a timely discussion with Christmas around the corner, seems more people give and are more charitable around Christmas time, though we should really be charitable all year long.

It is my personal policy not to give money to people who are begging for it. My policy is such because I personally would rather give what little I have to families or people who are trying to change their circumstance. But as I was thinking during Sunday School, who am I to judge? I don't know why they are begging for money or why they do what they can to take advantage of the system. I still feel though that there are plenty of charities to donate to that will hopefully put your money to good use. Here are a couple that I like:

The Road Home

The United Way

Here is a verse from a song that I think is amusing but not very appropriate song that I thought fit this post. I just added the verse that pertained to the post, I didn't post the whole song because, it's not Wednesday and I didn't want people listening to the whole song for this verse.

Lazyboy - Underwear goes Inside the Pants

This homeless guy asked me for money the other day.
I was about to give it to him and then I thought he was going to use it on drugs or alcohol.
And then I thought, that's what I'm going to use it on.
Why am I judging this poor bastard.
People love to judge homeless guys. Like if you give them money they're just going to waste it.
Well, he lives in a box, what do you want him to do? Save it up and buy a wall unit?
Take a little run to the store for a throw rug and a CD rack? He's homeless.
I walked behind this guy the other day.
A homeless guy asked him for money.
He looks right at the homeless guy and says why don't you go get a job you bum.
People always say that to homeless guys like it is so easy.
This homeless guy was wearing his underwear outside his pants.
Outside his pants. I'm guessing his resume isn't all up to date.
I'm predicting some problems during the interview process.
I'm pretty sure even McDonalds has a "underwear goes inside the pants" policy.
Not that they enforce it really strictly, but technically I'm sure it is on the books.

The Day After

A great way to burn off all the pumpkin pie is by spending the day after Turkey day walking miles upon miles at the malls and stores. I will not be joining the throngs of shoppers, well I might if the deals are good enough. My wife and family will be out there to add to the chaos.

Times have changed thanks to the internet. Instead of waiting for the big fat news paper with all the adds you can can sit at the computer and cruse for the deals. Here are a couple of sites that might help in your quest for the ultimate deal.

The Coupon Coup is actually great for finding deals year round.

There are a few black Friday sites .com, .net, .info, the "Official" site and this thing and of course a twitter hashtag that collects all of the deals that people tweet about. Some sites are already offering deals such as amazon, just a little reminder about my previous post on what you can get me for Christmas.

Happy shopping everyone! Stay safe and no punching people!

Wednesday Tunes

I was going to start my Christmas tunes today but somehow came across this little number that I just find amusing. No idea what they are talking about, so if you know and it's bad, just don't tell. But how could it be bad?

Lip Dub - Tambureddu HD from Leonardo Dalessandri on Vimeo.

And I suppose I can add a Christmas tune to get us going with the Christmas season. Now we just need some snow!

Here we go, the song starts around minute 2.

It Feels Like Christmas

I wasn't going to post this because of the bad quality but it's all I could find. I figure in place of snow we could just have more Christmas Songs to get us in the mood.

Being Good

On the drive out to Grandma and Grandpas house I was asking B what she learned in primary. Sometimes I can't believe how knowledgeable she is. Her teachers, both church and school, are doing awesome jobs. She must listen to them really good. Anyway, she was saying that she learned about prophets. So I was prodding her trying to get more out of her and she said that "Jesus tells the prophets what to tell us". I was impressed that she understood this. About six hours later on our way home she must have been thinking about it some more, because she told me that she was going to listen to the prophets and to Jesus. She said that she would be nice to everyone, that she wouldn't fight, and that she would be good. She also said that she would "keep her mind". Not quite sure, but I'm guessing she meant keep her mind clean. Just today in sacrament one of the speakers was talking about how we need to have the desire to do good. I was very happy to hear her say that she wanted to be good. She is such a good, sweet girl and a good example.

Oh yeah, and Cash (who wants to be just like his big sister) piped into the conversation saying. "And I will be nice to my best friend G money!!"

Wednesday Tunes

Ran across this blog that layed out their Top 40 TV Theme Songs. While most of them I agree, are classics and do indeed belong in the top 40, a few were a bit off and of course my favorite wasn't even on there. MASH and Cheers are listed at #2 & #1, while the Cheers theme is great the MASH theme is so much better. I think that Sesame Street and the Simpson's should have been closer to the front with The Dukes of Hazard up in the top 5. A few of the shows I've never heard of, while some of the others brought back some good 'ol kid time memories. They also left off Mr. Rogers, how could they do that?

If I had more time I'd list my top 20 but this will have to do.

So here it is the theme to Smallville my #1. I have never heard the whole song before, the actual theme that they use for the show starts at round 3:25ish.

Santa Claus

Why in the world, if you had a long white beard and white hair, would you go out with red pants and a red flannel button up shirt?

So we were leaving Smiths today and in a line at the customer service desk there was a man that was dressed this way. Cash was so excited!!! At first I thought that he was talking about a sticker that he had just gotten. But then I realized that he was pointing at someone, while saying "Santa Claus" over and over again. I was so embarrassed. I am sure that the guy heard. I tried to tell Cash that it wasn't really Santa, but that just made him get louder as he argued "Uh-huh, it is Santa Claus. See." He learned his arguing skills from his daddy. So I decided that I would stop arguing with him and just try to hurry him out the door. But of course he was extra slow as he gaped at the man all the way out. The only thing the guy was missing was a red hat.

I laughed the whole way out to the car. Cash was just so sure that he had just seen Santa!!!

Wednesday Tunes

Today is a two for one day.

While we were out shopping last weekend, cash saw a skateboard and wanted it. It was being used as a decoration and he was ticked I wouldn't let him play with it. (By the way this was the first time I had been in a mall in about a year). Then the other night he told T and her mom that he wanted a skateboard for Christmas. So last night T showed him some skate videos. Yeah, him and G money can do these things. "gavin and me do that"

Goldfinger - Superman

This next video is what I have been listening to for the past month. b dances around the house while singing this song, unfortunately she only knows some of the words so its the same words over and over again. Of course cash caught on and he is now singing the same words over and over again also.

Worn Out!

B and Cash had a sleep over planned for Friday night. Aunt Marcee just had to run to the store and then she was going to pick them up. Well, Aunt Marcee got talking to someone and took longer than she had expected. B kept watching out the window every 30 seconds and both their bags were waiting by the door with their pillows. Eventually B's excitement wore her out and she fell asleep. Cash had fallen asleep right before Marcee left. I was changing his diaper and he just never got back up.

When Cash woke up later he went straight to the window and started crying "Aunt Marcee". It was cute. Well they were very excited when we finally made it to Marcee's house. She said that they had a blast!!

Snow!!

Cash was so excited that it snowed. He has been outside so much. We dropped B off at school the first day and he saw some kids out at recess playing in the snow. He asked me if he could go play with them. So I told him we would go out right when we got back home. So right when we walked in the house he wanted his gloves on and he played outside most of the day, only coming in to get warm again. One time I found him just chillin' in a chair outside eating snow out of a very very dirty bucket. But he was happy!!!

Happy Shopping!

Well now that I have given you a list of ideas on what to get me, let me give you a couple of suggestions on where to shop. Since most of the items on my list are books here are the best book stores in the state of Utah that are located in downtown Salt Lake, so while your there to see the lights make sure to stop by Sam Weller's on 254 South Main Street and Ken Sanders at 268 South 200 East. Sam Weller's has a little coffee shop in it that also sells hot chocolate, just a little something to keep you warm while your out looking at the lights and buying my presents. The Book Garden in Bountiful on 2 North Main Street is a great book store if you don't want to travel into downtown SLC.

Happy Shopping!!

It's that time of year

Christmas is around the corner and I know many of you are trying to get your shopping done. If you are pondering what to get me for Christmas, which I know you ALL are, I'll give you some ideas. Thanks to the every handy dandy internet, I have already created a list at Amazon. My list is in no particular order nor do you have to purchase the item from Amazon, it is more a list of ideas to help you out. This is also a year round list, so at any time you feel like buying me a present, feel free. On the left side of my blog here is an Amazon Wish list button, so for if any reason you feel I need a gift but not sure what to get me, well I have fixed that for you.

Your welcome

So all day today I have been singing this song in my head, I only know some of the words, so that gets kind of annoying. I think it has something to do with the elections!!!!

It's a new dawn, it's a new day and I'm feeling GOOD!!

Halloween 2008

We had a very busy, but very fun Halloween. Party, Party, Party!!! B had three parties of her own. Two dance class halloween parties and a preschool party. We had a party with a few of our friends and family also. We had a lot of fun! Here are some fun pics!!!

This is Genevieve. She is one of the princesses on the Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses Movie! When B would explain who she was she would say "Genevieve, the pink one in front"!! On the cover of the movie Genevieve was in the front.

This is Spider Man. He was so excited to be Spider Man. All month he told everyone that's who he was going to be. It was great for me because I already had the costume!! In the first pic he is shooting his web. And of course the second showing his muscles. His cousin K bug told him that the muscles were boobies. He said "Uh huh, boobies" as he patted them. Great stuff!!

Here is our little Dragon!! I love this costume. He is such a sweet baby. His tail was my favorite.

Here is our pirate. He didn't move around a lot when we first put it on him. He just stood there, probably humiliated. But once he got the hat off he didn't mind it so bad.

B and Cash got to go trick or treating with some of their cousins. Lucky lucky kids!!! I got to take them out while goob and daddy stayed home passing out candy.

Almost forgot! The old man isn't quite there but I thought this was good for his birthday.

The Beatles - When I'm Sixty-Four

Old Man

Grandpa B had his birthday last week. Man is he getting old! We had some mutniks (like corn dogs only better)and just hung out. The kids enjoyed playing with their grandpa and giving him presents. Yes, that is the best picture on top that we got, nearly impossible to get them to all look at the same place, even my dad.

Shine On

Cash's new nick name is "shiner". The kid is not even 2 and a half and this is his sixth black eye! I don't remember what caused number four and five. Five is displayed in the post below. I don't think I have a pic of #4. Number six comes from his "best friend" G money. They were wrestling around when g's head hit cash's. He cried for a minute, until he was brought to me, then he told me, "it don't hurt, I not crying", enough to make any dad proud.

This kid makes us laugh so hard. He has some "Dora the explorer" binoculars, probably got them from some fast food restaurant, he calls them his "monster glasses". He can see monsters through them as he looks backwards into them. If you show him the right way to look through them, he yells at you that you're doing it wrong. He's just always doing something funny, it makes it hard to discipline him when your trying your hardest not to laugh.

He is now telling everybody that they are his best friends, "your my best friend" "mommy is my best friend", "coco is my best friend". Another new term for him is "you know what?" or "you know why?" he's not asking you, he's telling you. My favorite thing is to say it to him, then he repeats it and goes on with some story.

Here is a another pic of his latest shiner

Here is my post on his first three black eyes.

GO Panthers!

I have already had a life time of sitting through dance performances, cheerleading and competitions. It looks as though I will have another life time of sitting through it all over. A couple weeks ago, we sat in the freezing cold watching half a football game of two not very good high school teams, to watch b cheer at half time.

The West high panthers cheerleaders put on a cheer camp. b and k bug were the only ones from our clan to cheer. It was soo cold. We kept cody happy by continuously feeding him starburst. Little b did great, she loves dancing in front of everybody. It was soo cold that she didn't move her arms very much. The minute she was done, we were out so fast just to get into the warm car.

I have to remember to dress much warmer and bring something to sit on!
